The 2025 D.A.D.S. production was a play by Robin Jennifer Miller called ‘Murder on Cue’ and it was performed in the Winn Hall on Thursday 20th, Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd November 2025 to an enthusiastic audience.
Maple Lodge is a retirement home for actors, where gossip and old rivalries is rife between the residents.
A heavy fall of snow means the home is cut off from the outside world. No-one can leave, including Gareth the solicitor, who arrived that afternoon to re-do the will of his waspish cousin Sybil. There is also the issue that the home is under threat of closure, and the nasty anonymous letters that have been sent to certain residents.
With nothing to do that evening, the residents gather together to all read out the letters they have received which results in secrets being revealed. There is also the mystery of the photo of a young man who nobody seems to know.
After breakfast the following morning and still snowed in, the residents wonder how they’re going to pass the day. Then a body is discovered. And then another body. The truth is revealed and the killer unmasked.
The play was set over two Acts with a 15 minute interval on each night where raffle tickets were sold. The meal for Saturday evening’s performance was prepared by Samantha Bragman of The Table Affair, a Dunsfold-based catering company offering fine food for all occasions.
Unfortunately, Phyllida Perrett, who was playing Molly, was unwell and unable to perform in any of the three shows. With remarkable dedication, our wonderful prompt, Barbara Elliott, stepped in at just seven hours’ notice and delivered a terrific performance. We were also fortunate to have Barbara Judge on hand to take over prompting duties for all three performances.
